CompanyBeacon guide

Why source dates matter in company intelligence

“Updated today” can describe a page render while the underlying dataset is months old. CompanyBeacon keeps those dates separate.

General information only. This is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Check the linked official guidance and use a qualified adviser for a claim or decision.

Four different dates

  • Source event date: when the company filing or contract event happened.
  • Extract date: when the upstream dataset was captured.
  • Import date: when CompanyBeacon loaded the projection.
  • Page generation date: when a report was rendered.

Live and snapshot data

Company status is retrieved through the live Companies House proxy or the most recent daily snapshot. Fund membership is a curated snapshot. Contracts and charity facts use their recorded extract and import dates.

What daily means here

The daily queue rechecks every tracked company and writes a run record. It does not rewrite an older contract or charity extract as though the source published new data.
