CompanyBeacon guide

A defensible SEIS/EIS portfolio-monitoring checklist

A repeatable way to turn public-register changes into review work without overstating what the data proves.

General information only. This is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Check the linked official guidance and use a qualified adviser for a claim or decision.

2. Separate membership from status

A fund portfolio page can show that an investment was publicly associated with a fund. It does not prove current ownership. Store the membership source and date independently from current Companies House status.

3. Monitor material fields

  • Company status and dissolution date.
  • Accounts due date and overdue flag.
  • Confirmation-statement due date.
  • Insolvency history and charges.
  • New filings, officer changes and registered-office changes.

4. Escalate with evidence

Keep the before-and-after value, timestamp, source URL and filing link. A status change should create a review task, not an automatic tax or investment conclusion.
